Africa-Press – Eswatini. Eswatini’s growing global footprint shone brightly once again as the United Nations Country Team delivered an inspiring end-of-year briefing to His Majesty King Mswati III at Lozitha Palace.

The event carried an atmosphere of optimism, with the UN affirming that the Kingdom is steadily emerging as one of Africa’s most determined leaders in sustainable development, climate action and inclusive growth.

Rather than simply reflecting on past achievements, the UN used the moment to spotlight Eswatini’s accelerating transformation, driven by strong national leadership and a unified commitment to progress. From global governance reform to women’s empowerment, the Kingdom’s policies and actions are earning admiration well beyond its borders.

The UN Resident Coordinator, George Wachira, praised His Majesty’s consistent advocacy for fair representation in global financial systems, a stance that aligns Africa’s aspirations with the world’s most pressing development debates. Eswatini’s proactive climate agenda, particularly the successful completion of its third Nationally Determined Contributions and participation at the New York Climate Summit, was celebrated as a mark of exemplary leadership.

Over the last five years, the UN-Eswatini partnership has energised key sectors including health, education, agriculture, MSME growth, justice and social protection. The Kingdom’s world-leading achievements in the HIV response, surpassing the 95-95-95 targets and reducing mother-to-child transmission below 3%, were highlighted as a standout victory for public health.

Looking forward, the UN announced an expansion of its presence and support under the 2026–2030 Cooperation Framework, targeting E3.2 billion to propel Eswatini’s next chapter of development. New agencies such as IFAD, ITU, UN-Habitat and UNECA will join efforts to strengthen resilience, innovation and shared prosperity.

The briefing closed with a reaffirmation of the UN’s unwavering commitment to walking alongside the Kingdom. With strategic partnerships deepening and national vision intensifying, Eswatini continues to position itself as a beacon of progress and stability in the region.

A confident and forward-looking Eswatini is stepping boldly into the future, and the world is taking notice.
