Africa-Press – Eswatini. Siphesihle Mamba, a University of Eswatini(UNESWA)Bachelor of Science(BSc) student allegedly committed suicide inside his rented flat at Mbikwakhe after complaining of stress related illness.

Reached for comments, his landlord Sebenzile Dludlu confirmed the death of the University student adding that he opened-up to her earlier saying he was stressed.

“He was discovered dead today(Wednesday) but was last seen on Monday, the police were here to collect his body,” said the landlord.

Police Spokesperson Superintendent Phindile Vilakati had not responded at responded at the time of compiling this report.

On Wednesday, Colani Maseko, the President of the Swaziland National Union of Students(SNUS) confirmed the death of the UNESWA student adding that he allegedly killed himself after writing an exam on Monday.

“He died after writing an exam on Monday, University students are stressed,” said the Students Union President.

Efforts to reach the late Siphesihle Mamba’s family proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.

University students in eSwatini are facing various challenges after Mswati’s Government refused to release allowances.

The students normally face torture, abduction and death perpetrated by State security officers whenever they protest in demand for their right to education.
