Africa-Press – Eswatini. The United States House of Representatives is reviewing a bill that calls for a reassessment of the country’s relationship with South Africa, amid tensions between the nations, Aljazeera reported on Thursday.

This comes after South Africa took Israel, a close and key diplomat ally of the United States in the Middle East, to the International Court of Justice(ICJ) over the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

It has been reported that, South Africa’s Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor, visited Washington, DC recently in what is believed to have been a trip aimed at getting the US strategic community to understand Pretoria’s positions on key areas of difference with Washington, the tension was triggered by South African decision to stand with Palestinians while the U.S. supports Israel.

The US accuses South Africa of establishing relations with countries or organizations that undermine the security of the United States.
