Africa-Press – Eswatini. A gathering marked by faith, vision, and unity took place at Mozambik Restaurant, Mbabane Corporate Place, where stakeholders from across Eswatini converged for the official launch of the VOC “Hearts for the Kingdom” Gala Dinner, slated for 31st October 2025 at Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre.
Presiding over the occasion was the Honourable Speaker of the House of Assembly, Honourable Jabulane Mabuza, who delivered powerful remarks that underscored both the spiritual significance and the national importance of this fundraising initiative.
In his address, Honourable Mabuza expressed sincere appreciation for being chosen as the guest of honour for the launch event, praising the Voice of the Church (VOC) for its enduring role in broadcasting the Word of God and fostering spiritual unity across Eswatini.
“It is my humble submission that we have also come together to lift our praises and express our gratitude to the Almighty God, who is the ultimate architect of this station’s success story in this nation,” he declared.
But the speaker also did not shy away from addressing the station’s ongoing struggles. He highlighted VOC’s financial difficulties and urged the Christian community to recognize the station as a shared asset, one that belongs to the Body of Christ and should be supported accordingly.
“Unfortunately, it is the people that are gathered here today that are partly to blame for the financial woes of VOC,” he stated. “After 30 years, VOC still cannot sustain its programmes on air. This is a challenge we must face together.”
Honourable Mabuza revealed that he had previously contributed to the purchase of Outside Broadcasting Unit equipment and encouraged others, particularly from the business sector, to step forward and support the station with the same generosity.
The gala dinner, which will take place on 31st October 2025, is not merely a fundraising event but a strategic move toward digital transformation. Funds raised will be directed towards purchasing digital broadcasting equipment, allowing VOC to keep pace with technological trends and maintain its relevance.
“We don’t want to be left behind in the technological advancement in the broadcasting space,” he emphasized. “This will make VOC a relevant station to the times we are living in and produce impactful programs.”
The Honourable Speaker further challenged churches and faith-based organizations to actively participate in national development goals, aligning their programs with the country’s vision for First World status by 2040. He affirmed the critical role of the Gospel in addressing social issues such as crime, domestic violence, and corruption.
Also addressing the audience was a representative from Tribe Studios, the official media partner for the gala dinner. Speaking on behalf of the creative agency, the representative shared deep gratitude for being invited into what they described as “a mission, not just a media job.”
“VOC FM has become a spiritual anchor for many,” the representative said. “And like all impactful institutions, it faces real challenges. That is why today’s launch, and the gala dinner it sets in motion, are so important. Together, we can ensure that VOC FM not only survives, but thrives.”
Tribe Studios pledged to document and amplify the journey of this initiative, working alongside Lokuhle Media Group and Mozambik Restaurant to tell the story of impact, hope, and faith.
The creative partner also acknowledged that this effort aligns with His Majesty King Mswati III’s Nkwe Mandate, which calls on citizens and institutions alike to unite in preserving and strengthening the soul of the nation.
In his conclusion, Honourable Mabuza officially declared the VOC Dinner launch open and called on every Swati citizen, especially the Christian community, to attend, support, and promote this pivotal event.
“With God on our side, our dreams will come to fruition. VOC is unstoppable. Long live VOC! Meet you at the dinner on 31st October 2025 in Mavuso Exhibition and Trade Centre Hall Number 1.”
As the launch came to a close, the air was filled with renewed commitment and collective purpose. From government officials and church leaders to media partners and community members, all stood united in their resolve to uplift a station that continues to be a voice of hope for the Kingdom of Eswatini.
