Africa-Press – Eswatini. The excitement of this year’s election was captured in the two-day nomination exercise where fresh new faces made up the majority of candidates across all three sections.

All across the four regions of the country, thousands of people took part in the nomination exercise, making their voice known in deciding the future of the next administration.

While the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) is yet to scrutinise all the candidates to make sure that everyone who has been nominated is fit to stand for election, the prevailing theme from the weekend is that there is a good number of new faces to contest for various positions – from Bucopho to Member of Parliament.

Over 40 new faces from women, youth and people with disability were nominated over the weekend.

Among the notable new faces is the outgoing Municipal Council of Mbabane Chief Executive Officer, Gideon Mhlongo, whose nomination for a position of Member of Parliament was the major highlight of the weekend.
