Africa-Press – Eswatini. THERE seems to be no luck for calmer waters at Manzini Wanderers.

This comes after Manzini Wanderers’ hopes to start the season on a high note have been dented, as over E15 000 worth of property stands to be attached by their former coach Velekhaya Mthethwa.

The hub giants were served with a writ of execution for movable property amounting to E15 300 by a Manzini-based deputy sheriff.

The property to be attached is set to increase as the messenger of the court is expected to add items that will cover interest of the owed amount, calculated at nine per cent per year.

The interest, according to the writ, will be from the date Wanderers were served with the summons to the date of final payment.

This is with reference to a case that was filed by Mthethwa at the Industrial Court, where he was seeking compensation for being unfairly dismissed by the club.

The Industrial Court had ruled in his favour on November 1, 2022.

“Further pay the said applicant (Mthethwa) or its attorney the sum or sums due to it with costs as the above-mentioned and for your doing, this shall be your warrant,” reads the writ in part.

Mthethwa confirmed the news.

“The issue is being handled by my legal team and for now I cannot say much except that to date I have received nothing from Wanderers as per the pending case.”

Wanderers Public Relations Officer Mduduzi ‘Mr G’ Ginindza said they would try and settle the debt

“We have no choice because it’s an order from the court, which we are compelled to comply with as a team.”

The former Sihlangu Semnikati assistant coach was appointed to lead Wanderers for two and half seasons, resuming from the 2021/22 season, replacing veteran head coach Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe, who made a resounding comeback to the crowd-pulling side last season.

Mthethwa led the ‘Weslians’ to sixth position in the 2021/22 MTN Premier League season.

Mthethwa has also worked in the junior national squads where he was once in charge of the Under 17 and Under 20 squads.
