Africa-Press – Eswatini. MALIAN team Real de Bamako have issued a stern warning to local CAF envoys Royal leopard ahead of their crunch CAF Confederation third round fixture set for Somhlolo National Stadium tomorrow.
The black and yellow ensemble is one of the two most dominant clubs in the West African country‘s football and sneaked into the country on Saturday.
They were joined by head coach Nouhoum Diane yesterday evening and when interviewed briefly at the Hilton Garden Inn after their training session, the team’s assistant coach Daouda Kone said they were well aware of the threat posed by the local side, but was quick to point out that they were here for a win.
“They are definitely a good team. You do not become champions or get to this stage of the tournament if you are a bad side so we know what we are up against and we are more than ready for the challenge,” he said.
Kone mentioned that Leopard was the first Southern African team they had to face and said they were content with the treatment and hospitality they had received in the country.
“Eswatini has been fantastic. We have been welcomed with open arms and we are more than grateful to the host side and host nation for this,” he added.
When quizzed about the artificial turf and whether the weather would affect their performance, he answered to the negative, stating that the professional footballer’s duty was to perform to the best of their abilities no matter the circumstances.
“We are not used to playing in artificial turf and our temperatures are always high. but our players have a duty to adapt, and I am certain they will be ready for the battle on Wednesday,” he added.
