Africa-Press – Eswatini. I am representing a group of over fifty(50) unemployed teachers who were contracted by Emlalatini Development Centre(government institution) from last year July till March this year and I am writing to you to help us get our pay.
We have been contracted in different jobs,mainly online tutoring, marking, course development and some in invigilating the 2023 external examinations, in all these none has been paid.
After enquiring from the Principal,we were told we will paid soon.
All this time we have been doing our work diligently, such that the institution is now piloting the online courses that we have completed in February,but still nothing.
The sad part is; most of us had to borrow monies in order to carry out all this work after being promised we will be paid soon.We signed contracts and claimed but nothing came through.
Imagine invigilators did not receive their payments, instead were told their monies have to be cut into half,with no clear reasons.
They were given new contracts to sign.But nothing has been received and no one wants to address this.
