Africa-Press – Eswatini. Minister of ICT, Hon. Savannah Maziya, hosted a luncheon bringing together top women leaders from across Eswatini to discuss strategies for empowerment and creating opportunities.

The gathering, which was hosted on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Thembelisha, Ezulwini, included CEOs, heads of agencies, municipal leaders, entrepreneurs, and other change makers, and was held under the theme “Women Uplifting Women, Leading with Purpose, Impact & Sisterhood.”

Minister Maziya highlighted the purpose of the gathering, saying, “Our objectives are to celebrate and strengthen women leadership in Eswatini, encourage cross-sector collaboration among influential women, reinforce a culture where women lift each other as they rise, inspire women to mentor young women and girls, especially in STEM, and position Eswatini’s women leaders as drivers of digital and national transformation.”

The luncheon focused on how women in leadership can inspire economic growth by creating jobs, mentoring young women, and supporting entrepreneurship, especially for those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Mbali Sibanyoni, Managing Director at Swaziland Building Society, stressed that young women should be encouraged to create employment rather than only seek jobs. “Financial education must start at the grassroots level. We need to guide young girls to become employers and innovators,” she said.

Sonia Paiva, founder and CEO of the Woman Farmer Foundation, called for financial inclusion and responsible use of resources. “Access to affordable finance is crucial, but young women also need to learn how to manage it wisely. We are building a culture of responsibility and opportunity,” she said.

The event also emphasized the legacy women leaders leave behind by empowering others. Participants shared strategies for mentoring, breaking barriers, and promoting women’s leadership across all sectors.

By connecting and inspiring one another, these leaders aim to strengthen networks, drive national development, and position Eswatini’s women as agents of social and economic transformation.
