“You are the Worse Prime Minister, you Want us to Write Positively so that you can Look Good”, Nation Magazine Editor Bheki Makhubu Takes on Russell Mmiso Dlamini

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Bheki Makhubu, the editor of the Nation Magazine has accused Russell Mmiso Dlamini of being the worse Prime Minister in the history of this country.

Speaking during the Breakfast Meeting between the PM and editors on Friday at the Mountain-Inn Mbabane, Makhubu said, the PM wants journalists to write positively so that, he can look good when in fact he is messing-up the country.

The veteran editor further questioned the PM as to why Information, Communications and Technology(ICT) Minister Savannah Maziya was always absent during the Breakfast Meetings, the Information Minister is allegedly at loggerheads with the PM after Russell Mmiso Dlamini tried to regulate the media.

The ICT Minister has been vigorously opposing the PM saying, the media must be independent and cannot be regulated by Government.

“In thirty-eight(38) years, you are the worse the King has ever appointed, let me tell you that. Ufuna sibhale positively so that you can look good, that’s not our job. Our job is to keep you in-check. You promised us Savannah last time, she is not here, you lied to us ufuna sikuncenge kuloko?. Why was this meeting not scheduled nakakhona?. Nyalo utsi Minister asimfuni, akusho kutsi asimfuni, sifuna Savannah wabekwa yiNkhosi Savannah akabekwanga nguwe. Wena sowenta ema-reshuffle in Cabinet ubeke ema-Minister to act for you?. Uphi wetfu Minister lesamnikwa yiNkhosi?”. said the Nation Magazine editor.

Responding to the editor, the PM warned that, the meeting was degenerating, accusing Makhubu of attacking him, Swazi Observer editor Mbongeni Mbingo, the Chairman of the Eswatini Editors Forum(EEF) subsequently apologized to the PM after Russell Mmiso Dlamini demonstrated unwillingness to be questioned or take hard and critical questions.
