YOUNG HEROES CELEBRATE 12 GRADUATES IN NHLANGANO

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Young Heroes proudly celebrated the graduation of 12 exceptional students sponsored through its Skills Training Empowerment Project (STEP) at the Nhlangano Industrial Skills Training Center (NISTIC) on November 19, 2025.

The STEP programme, supported by MTN and other generous partners, provided tuition and uniforms for the 2024/2025 academic year. Over the last nine years, Young Heroes has supported thousands of students, with NISTIC accounting for 19% of the enrolments this year. Notably, 33% which means four students out of the 12 students of this year’s graduates pursued agriculture, signalling a bright future for the country’s food security.

“The Skills Training Empowerment Project equips students with practical skills in motor mechanics, plumbing, carpentry, electrical wiring, and metal work, opening doors to employment and entrepreneurship,” said Nondumiso Lukhele, Young Heroes Communities Linkages Officer. “As the world increasingly embraces technology, we encourage young people to explore ICT opportunities, which will form 70% of our future funding priorities.”

The graduates of the Class of 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 included:

Agriculture: Sibandze Mayendziwe, Mathobela Ntombizodwa, Msibi Menzi Sizwe, Mathobela Nelly Sebendzile

Sphamandla Mamba, one of the outstanding students, shared his gratitude: “We thank Young Heroes and all their supporters for this opportunity. The skills we have gained will allow us to contribute meaningfully to our communities and the country.”

On behalf of Young Heroes, Nondumiso Lukhele added: “Today, we applaud your hard work, resilience, and determination. Use your skills boldly, dream big, and continue learning. As Nelson Mandela once said, ‘Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.’ Congratulations—we are proud of you!”

This first graduation at Nhlangano Industrial Skills Training Center is a milestone not only for the students but also for the continued growth and empowerment of Eswatini’s youth.
