Africa-Press – Ethiopia. The Chinese government has appointed Wang Yi as its new Foreign Minister by replacing Qin Gang, according to Xinhua.
China’s top legislature voted to appoint Wang Yi as foreign minister of the country as it convened a session on Tuesday.
Qin Gang was removed from the post of foreign minister, according to a decision adopted at the fourth session of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People’s Congress (NPC).
It is to be recalled that prior to his appointment, Wang Yi was in Addis Ababa to deliver a message from President Xi Jinping to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
