Company Executives, Ambassadors Discuss Investment Opportunities in Ethiopia

Africa-Press – Ethiopia. Ethiopia’s Ambassador to India, Demeke Atnafu and Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI) Chairman and Managing Director Rameshwar Prasad Gupta have discussed investment opportunities in Ethiopia with special focus on renewable energy sector.

The ambassador briefed the chairman on the untapped potential of collaboration in renewable energy sector (hydro, solar, wind and geothermal) and encouraged Indian companies to take part mainly in solar and wind power sectors.

According to the Embassy of Ethiopia in New Delhi, both have agreed to further explore areas of cooperation and partnership on renewable energy, mainly to forge collaboration in solar and wind power sectors.

In related news, Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Japan Daba Debele held discussion with Metals Unit for JOGMEC Executive Vice President Shimotori Hiroshi and Sumitomo Metal Mining General Manager Takahiro Hagiwara.

The discussions revolved around fostering a collaborative partnership to enhance investments within Ethiopia’s mining and energy sectors, the Embassy of Ethiopia in Tokyo said.

Both parties explored avenues for cooperation that would yield mutual benefits.

Such initiatives hold the potential to contribute to the growth of Ethiopia’s mining and energy industries while simultaneously offering opportunities for Sumitomo Metal Mining to expand its presence in the region.
