Africa-Press – Ethiopia. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonnen has expressed gratitude for the United Kingdom’s humanitarian support to people affected by conflict and natural disasters in Ethiopia.

The Ambassador of UK and Northern Ireland to Ethiopia, Darren John Welch payed a courtesy call on the deputy prime minister and foreign minister today.

During their discussion, Demeke affirmed Ethiopia’s commitment to the implementation of the Pretoria Peace Agreement.

Moreover, the Government of Ethiopia is preparing a road map on a transitional justice mechanism and has established a high-level Inter-Ministerial Taskforce to implement the recommendations of the joint UN-EHRC to ensure accountability.
