Africa-Press – Ethiopia. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Demeke Mekonnen met with US Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, Mike Hammer, in his office today.
During the discussion, Demeke reaffirmed the government’s commitment to a peaceful resolution of the conflict in the northern part of the country.
For his part, Mike Hammer stated that the US would continue to strengthen its support for the AU-led peace talks.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the parties concurred on the need to further bolster bilateral ties between Ethiopia and the US.
