Africa-Press – Ethiopia. The Ethio-China Business Cooperation Promotion Conference aimed at further strengthening economic relations between the business communities of the two countries were held in Addis Ababa today.

The conference, organized by the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Association, and the Beijing Chamber of International Commerce, brought together key stakeholders from both countries.

Speaking during the conference, Finance State Minister, Semerita Sewasew emphasized the positive trajectory of Ethiopia-China trade exchange.

She elaborated on the favorable conditions offered to Chinese investors in Ethiopia, making the country an attractive destination for business ventures.

Middle East, Asia and Pacific Affairs Director-General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gebeyehu Ganga underscored the conference’s crucial role in deepening economic relations between the two countries.

He stressed the importance of the conference in fostering business exchanges, investment, and trade.

The director general reaffirmed the Ministry’s unwavering commitment to supporting and strengthening Ethio-China business ties.

Councilor of China’s Embassy in Ethiopia, Yang Yihang stated the conference’s significance in boosting existing economic relations.

He noted China’s position as a major source of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and trade exchange for Ethiopia.

Guo Huaigang, Chairperson of the Beijing Chamber of International Commerce, emphasized the conference’s role in enhancing business activities between the two countries.

Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Association President, Mesenbet Shenkute on her part reiterated China’s importance as a major source of business exchange for Ethiopia, particularly in trade and investment.

The conference signifies a renewed commitment from both Ethiopia and China to solidify and expand their economic partnership, and discussions and collaborations fostered by this event are likely to pave the way for increased trade, investment, and overall economic prosperity for both nations, it was indicated.
