The second regular congress of Ethiopia’s ruling Prosperity Party that will run for three days commenced at the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum today in Addis Ababa.
Addressing the congress, Zafer Sırakaya, Deputy Chairman of Turkiye’s Justice and Development Party (AK) noted that the enduring ties between the two countries and parties reflect their commitment to building a future rooted in mutual respect and shared region.
Wishing a great success at the congress, he expressed his hope that the decision taken here not only benefit your esteemed nation but also contribute to further stability within the continent and global stability and prosperity.
For the Deputy Chairman, Ethiopia holds a unique place in the continent as one of the oldest civilizations, the centers of culture, history, diversity, home of numerous languages, religions and ethnic communities.
Stating that Ethiopia continues to stand as a beacon of heritage and resilience, he said for many around the world, Ethiopia represents one of humanity’s most inspiring stories.
He also noted that Ethiopia’s heroic fight for sovereignty not only empowered its own people but also has served as a beacon of hope for nations striving for freedom and dignity across the globe.

Ethiopia and Turkiye share this profound legacy which is a legacy of resilience, self-determination, and deep rooted commitment to sovereignty, Sırakaya added.
“Our relations have grown from strength to strength and become more dynamic with trade, education and cultural ties flourishing over the past decade,” he further affirmed.
Noting that Turkiye’s commitment for Ethiopia’s development goes hand-in-hand with its belief in regional cooperation, AK Party Deputy Chairman said the stability of the horn of Africa is vital.
Turkiye and Ethiopia will continue to collaborate not just only for the wellbeing of our people but also for the advancement of global peace and justice, he further disclosed.
The congress is expected to address critical policy matters and chart the party’s course for the coming years, it was learned.
With 15.7 million members, the Prosperity Party is the largest political organization in Africa.
