
Africa-Press – Ethiopia. The Secretary General of People’s Rally for Progress (RPP) and Finance Minister of Djibouti, ILyas Moussa Dawaleh describe Ethiopia as a guardian of stability and champion of regional economic integration.
The Secretary General made the remark in his solidarity speech delivered at the opening of the Second Congress of Ethiopia’s ruling Prosperity Party in Addis Ababa today.
Dawaleh said more than ever, Ethiopia must continue to lead in driving regional peace and stability, economic transformation, stronger ties between nations around the region.
“To achieve this, trust is essential, trust between our nations and countries, trust between leaders, trust between people, with trust we foster deeper dialogue, cooperation and opportunities for all.”
According to him, a peaceful, integrated and economically stronghold Africa is not just a dream, it’s a necessity.
Ethiopia has always been a regional pillar, the Secretary General of RPP underscored. “A guardian of stability, a champion of regional economic integration, and as Djibouti is considered a global public good, we also consider Ethiopia as regional and global public good.”
He mentioned about the power of togetherness across the region mentioning the existing challenges in Horn of Africa. “We face terrorism and security threats, climate change and environmental shocks, unpredictable global geopolitics, this challenge, demand, unity, resilience, deeper cooperation together, we strengthen our resilience. Together, we ensure regional stability and prosperity, and together, we rise.”
In the spirit of regional solidarity, he expressed Djibouti’s strong support and encourages the prosperity Party’s vision and leadership in launching the Ethiopian national reconciliation initiative.
Dawaleh concluded his speech by stressing the need for strong togetherness in the region and act together as one family with a shared and intertwined destiny.
