Africa-Press – Ethiopia. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Demeke Mekonnen said Ethiopia is keen to enhance its historical and wide-ranging cooperation with Spain to a strategic level.
The deputy premier made the remark while he bade farewell to the outgoing Spanish Ambassador to Ethiopia, Manuel Salazar, today.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Demeke congratulated Ambassador Manuel Salazar for his remarkable contributions in expanding the relations between the two sisterly countries during his tenure.
He also recognized Spain’s principled and consistent position during Ethiopia’s difficult times, underscoring that Ethiopia is keen to enhance its historical and wide-ranging cooperation with Spain.
Ambassador Salazar stated on his part that Spain considers Ethiopia a major partner.
The bilateral relations in development cooperation, trade, investment, aviation and other fields have been highly augmented in recent years, the ambassador added.
He further said that Spain is ready to enhance its ever growing and comprehensive relations with Ethiopia.
