Africa-Press – Ethiopia. Ethiopia is set to take center stage in Africa’s youth empowerment agenda as Addis Ababa hosts the Africa Youth Forum 2025 from December 16–17, 2025, at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).
Widely regarded as one of the continent’s most influential youth-led platforms, the forum will convene young leaders, innovators, policymakers, and development partners to shape Africa’s socio-economic future at a critical moment for the continent.
Organized by Enderase Youth Association in partnership with SNV, the forum aligns with the African Union’s 2025 Theme on Economic Justice for Youths and the long-term aspirations of Agenda 2063.
This year’s theme, “Unlocking Youth Potential: Finance, Innovation and Employment Pathways,” places a spotlight on the structural barriers confronting Africa’s youth—while advancing concrete, solution-oriented dialogue with decision-makers.
The 2025 edition is expected to attract more than 300 participants, including over 100 virtual attendees, making it one of the largest hybrid youth platforms on the continent.
Young leaders from Ethiopia, Uganda, Ghana, Zambia, Cameroon, and several other African countries will participate, reinforcing the forum’s pan-African character and impact.
With a strong focus on youth financing, job creation, entrepreneurship, and innovation-driven solutions, the forum aims to catalyze long-term partnerships that translate dialogue into tangible economic opportunities for young Africans.
Organizers say the Africa Youth Forum is increasingly positioned as a catalyst for transformative change, amplifying youth voices and embedding them at the heart of Africa’s development discourse.
Africa remains the world’s youngest continent, with more than 60 percent of its population under the age of 25—a powerful demographic advantage that holds immense promise for innovation and economic transformation. However, unlocking this dividend requires sustained investment in education, decent jobs, and meaningful youth participation.
In recognition of this, institutions including the African Union, African Development Bank, and the United Nations are advancing policies that prioritize youth leadership, entrepreneurship, and good governance.
As Africa Youth Forum 2025 convenes in Addis Ababa, its message is clear: Africa’s future will be shaped by its young people—and their full participation is not optional, but essential for the continent’s progress and prosperity.
