Africa-Press – Ethiopia. A delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonnen is in attendance of the Global Refugee Forum 2023 underway in Geneva, Switzerland.
The forum, which opened today, is expected to advance the causes of refugees and communities hosting them.
According to the Refugee and Returnee Service, it is also set to reflect on what has been achieved since the last Global Refugee Forum in 2019 and also announce new pledges for the next four years with the focus of boosting cooperation and partnership tailored at improving the lives of refugees and their hosts.
Attending the forum are governments, international organizations, civil society, private sector entities and refugees themselves with the primary aim to foster solidarity and cooperation in addressing refugee issues worldwide.
