Africa-Press – Ethiopia. A high-level delegation from Ethiopia, comprising representatives from the Ministry of Industry, Ethiopia’s Chemical Industry Cooperation, East Africa Mining Co PLC, and Muger Cement PLC, is currently in Delhi for to Foster Knowledge Transfer and Green Economy Initiatives.
The delegation aims to explore advancements in industrial practices and contribute to Ethiopia’s ongoing commitment to sustainable development and green energy transformation.
Upon arrival, the Ethiopian delegation was warmly welcomed by Ethiopian Ambassador to India, Fesseha Shawel and diplomats at the embassy.
During the reception, Ambassador Fesseha highlighted Ethiopia’s ambitious goals in achieving a carbon-neutral economy and emphasized the government’s leadership commitment to institutionalizing green energy initiatives.
This visit is part of a broader initiative facilitated by the Leadership Group for Industry Transition (LeadIT), a public-private partnership launched at the UN General Assembly’s Climate Action Summit in 2019.
Co-chaired by the governments of India and Sweden, LeadIT comprises member states committed to advancing industrial transitions towards sustainable practices.
Notably, Ethiopia and South Africa are the only African member states participating in this initiative.
