Africa-Press – Ethiopia. Ethiopia’s Foreign Minister Gedion Timothewos underscored the importance of regular consultations to further strengthen the relationship between Ethiopia and the European Union.
Gedion made the remarks during talks he held with Simon Mordue, Deputy Secretary-General for Economic and Global Issues of the European External Action Service in his office today.
The minister stressed the need to strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Engagement Agreement signed between Ethiopia and the European Union in 2026.
He also briefed the deputy secretary-general on key national and regional developments, emphasizing the importance of deepening cooperation on economic development, investment and regional peace and security.
Deputy Secretary-General Simon Mordou on his part said the EU attaches greater significance to its relationship with Ethiopia.
He added that EU’s cooperation with Ethiopia, particularly in economic development, entrepreneurship, and investment has regional benefits that extend beyond bilateral relations.
