Africa-Press – Ethiopia. State Minister of Finance, Eyob Tekalign held bilateral meetings with Vice Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands, Pascalle Grotenhuis and State Secretary of Development Policy of Denmark, Lotte Machon.

According to a press release sent, the state minister met his Danish and Dutch Counterparts at the margin of the second Global Refugee Forum in Geneva.

Eyob briefed both the officials about the economic reforms and the results registered and the way forward in ensuring shared prosperity in Ethiopia.

Highlighting the multifaceted activities which Ethiopia continues to undertake in protecting refugees, he emphasized the importance of sharing equitable burden and responsibility to achieve the objectives of the Global Refugee Forum.

In this regard, he commended the longstanding cooperation between Ethiopia and the two countries.

He added that the Global Refugee Forum creates a unique opportunity to enhance the self-reliance of refugees, adding that many states have made pledges that need to be translated into actions.

The two State Secretaries appreciated the leadership role of Ethiopia in providing international protection and solutions to the refugees.

They expressed their commitment to working with Ethiopia on refugee matters among other multifaceted bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
