French Delegation Visits Gedeo Cultural Landscape

Africa-Press – Ethiopia. A delegation led by the French Ambassador to Ethiopia, Rémi Maréchaux, has visited the Gedeo Cultural Landscape.

Recall that the Gedeo Cultural Landscape was registered by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on the World Heritage List during the 45th extended session of the World Heritage Committee held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in September 17,2023.

During the visit, the delegation is expected to visit Tutiti and Tutifela heritages, besides the Gedeo Cultural Landscape.

A delegation comprising Ethiopian Heritage Authority Director-General Abebaw Ayalew and archaeologists as well as researchers in the sector have accompanied the ambassador.

The French Center for Ethiopian Studies (FCES) has been conducting research on Gedeo’s historical stones heritage.
