Africa-Press – Ethiopia. The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and European Union held their partnership dialogue in Djibouti today.
Executive Secretary of IGAD, Workneh Gebeyehu co-chaired the Partnership Dialogue with Denisa-Elena Ionete, EU Ambassador to Djibouti and IGAD.
“The Dialogue reaffirmed our shared commitment to regional peace and security, emphasizing the importance of multilateral cooperation in addressing political, security, humanitarian, and climate challenges in the Horn of Africa,” the executive secretary said in a social media page.
Workneh also reiterated IGAD’s vital role in mobilizing greater international support for conflict resolution and our commitment to strengthening the IGAD–EU strategic partnership in support of regional stability and development.
