Africa-Press – Ethiopia. Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio and Prime Minister Mamadou Oury Bah of the Republic of Guinea have visited today the successful achievements gained in household farm in East Showa zone of Oromia today.
The leaders are in Ethiopia to participants at the World without Hunger Conference underway in Addis Ababa under the theme “A World without Hunger is Possible.”
The participants have discussed wide ranges of issues on ways how the world would be able to tackle hunger and ensure food security.
The household farms, visited by the leaders, are engaged in various agricultural transformation including growing vegetables, dairy farming and poultry.
Ethiopia’s Minister of Agriculture, Girma Amenti and Minister of Defense, Aisha Mohammed were present during the visit.
The participants of the conference were impressed by the remarkable achievements Ethiopia is undertaking to transform the agriculture sector.
The three day conference, brought together over 1,500 key stakeholders—including heads of state, government officials, UN agencies, private sector representatives, and civil society leaders—to address one of humanity’s most pressing challenges.
The event, organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the African Union Commission (AUC), and the Ethiopian government, with support from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), features solution-focused sessions, an investment forum, and a high-level political forum to foster coordinated, impactful action toward a hunger-free world.
The participants of the conference are expected to announce the ‘Addis Ababa Declaration’ today following the conclusion of the three days deliberation.
