Africa-Press – Ethiopia. Pakistani companies have expressed strong interest to do business and invest their capital in Ethiopia, recognizing the significant market and investment potential of the country.
A three-day Pakistan Africa Business Development Conference and Exhibition is underway in Addis Ababa.
Marketing Manager of Prix Pharmaceutical Company, Syed Abulhassan Abbas, told the Ethiopian News Agency (ENA) that the exhibition will help the participants align with Ethiopia’s policy and expand business relations with Africa.
“We ( the Prix Pharmaceutical Company) have always wanted to be part of African growth; and Ethiopia stands out in East Africa due to its large population of cattle and livestock,” he noted.
According to him, Prix Pharmaceuticals wants to partner with local investors in Ethiopia.
“Initially, we will introduce our product to gauge its potential in the market. If we identify promising opportunities, we will gradually develop the market and consider investing further.”
In addition, the company is keen to collaborate with local partners who can help elevate its efforts to the next level, he added.
Green Cables Company Chief Executive Officer, Mirza Adnan Manzoor, described Ethiopia as a gateway to Africa with vast opportunities.
“It was eye-opening to see the vibrant people and high literacy rate upon my arrival at Addis Ababa Airport. The market here is promising, and we are eager to build relationships and establish a presence.”
The CEO said Green Cables intends to explore local distribution channels before setting up a production facility in the country, while planning to invest in the future.
“This market holds great promise, and we have a strategic plan in place. Initially, we will explore the landscape to identify local distributors and dealers. Following that, our next step will be to establish a production facility here.”
On his part, Sadaqat Limited General Marketing Manager, Tariq Sattar, shared his views on the exhibition, noting it as a valuable experience due to the influx of interested visitors.
Sadaqat Textile ranks among the top ten textile companies in Pakistan, specializing in home textiles.
The Manager stated that his company is closely observing local behaviors and government policies to assess the feasibility of future investments.
