Africa-Press – Ethiopia. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has held a phone conversation with the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Friday.
During the occasion, the premier conveyed deepest condolences to President Erdogan for the loss of lives and destruction from the earthquake.
“I conveyed deepest condolences to President Erdogan in a phone call today, for the loss of lives & destruction from the earthquake,” Prime Minister Abiy twitted.
Ethiopia is always committed to help a friend in need and extends its humble support of materials and rescue teams to the recovery work in Türkiye, Abiy added.
The death toll caused by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Turkey has reached close to 40, 000 – a figure which is expected to rise.
