Africa-Press – Ethiopia. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed lauded armed groups for choosing the peaceful way and called on others to follow in their footsteps.

The 19th Nations, Nationalities and Peoples’ Day celebrated in Arbaminch in the presence of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh as well as other federal, regional officials and representatives of the various nations and nationalities of Ethiopia.

During the Celebration, Abiy emphasized the need to turn the narration to peace and love through synergy and unity within diversity.

Thousands of militants have recently chosen the path of peace in the Oromia region, he stated, and urged others to follow their footsteps.

Furthermore, the Premier advised to leave a lasting legacy like the Abbay River by uniting within diversity for peace.

Abiy stressed the need to shun hate, conflict and embrace peace and love.

The 19th Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Day is being celebrated in Arba Minch city of Southern Ethiopia Regional State.

Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples Day is an annual occasion dedicated to promoting national unity in Ethiopia by upholding the principles of equality and solidarity while preserving the national integrity of the country.

This year’s event is being celebrated under the theme “National Consensus for Multinational Unity.”
