Africa-Press – Ethiopia. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said that Ethiopia’s foundation will be fortified by overcoming the challenges the country faces across all sectors.
Ethiopia kicked off today the annual celebration of the 13th Ethiopian month (Pagumen) with various events across the nation.
In Ethiopia, the year is divided into 13 months, with 12 months having 30 days and the final month, Pagumen, having either five or six days during a leap year.
This final period is considered highly significant by both the government and the public, serving as a time for reflection and making plans for the coming year.
Today is the first day of Pagumen. It is specifically celebrated as Resilience Day, with the theme “Firm Foundation for Resilient Nation,” to honor individuals who have contributed to the country’s peace, stability, and growth.
In a message posted on his social media page for the occasion, the Prime Minister said that Ethiopia’s prosperity will be secured by strong hands that can solidify its foundation.
He also said, “We will strengthen Ethiopia’s foundation through the struggles we encounter across all sectors.”
PM Abiy concluded his message by declaring, “We will build a strong country with our blood and sweat—a country that is resilient to any problems, that turns challenges into opportunities and that will rank among the world’s great powers in the coming era.”
