Africa-Press – Ethiopia. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed is in Dubai, UAE, to attend the 28th United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).
The conference that aims to address the urgent global issue of climate change and promote international collaboration on sustainable development would be held up until 12th December,2023.
In his first day, Prime Minister Abiy met with the United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss the importance of collective action in mitigating the effects of climate change.
The premier and the president also visited the Ethiopian Pavilion at the Dubai Expo City, where the conference is being held.
The pavilion showcases Ethiopia’s strong commitment to combating climate change through practical and effective solutions.
PM Abiy expressed gratitude to President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his visit to Ethiopia’s Green Legacy Pavilion.
Leaders, ministers, and technical committees from Ethiopia are engaging in discussions that highlight the concrete outcomes of Ethiopia’s proactive measures to combat climate change.
Abiy’s presence at COP28 reflects Ethiopia’s commitment to international cooperation and its determination to address climate change for the betterment of current and future generations.
