Africa-Press – Ethiopia. The reform activities undertaken at the defense forces during the past five years enhanced the capabilities of ENDF, Chief of Staff of the National Defense Forces, Field Marshal Berhanu Jula said.
The closing ceremony of the 88th anniversary of the Ethiopian Air Force was held in Bishoftu today.
During the occasion, members of the Ethiopian Air Force and the United Arab Emirates Air Force performed a joint air show dubbed “Black Lion.”
Addressing the occasion, Field Marshal Berhanu said Ethiopia has been working on modernizing and building its air force, naval force, the ground force and cyber force among others, basing regional and global potential impacts on the country.
Therefore, the reform undertaken has enhanced the execution capabilities of the army through the accomplishment of training, manpower, among others, in a successive manner.
He affirmed that the reform has been productive and transformative.
Praising the air force, its staff and the leadership at all levels, Field Marshal Berhanu said that changing the previous work tradition of the air force through the reform has enhanced its execution capabilities, the working environment and transformed it in all aspects.
The chief of staff also commended Prime Minister and the Commander-in-Chief of the army, Abiy Ahmed, for his continued and unwavering support as well as dedicated leadership to ENDF.
