Africa-Press – Ethiopia. A Russian high level delegation led by Valentina Matvienko, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, has arrived in Addis Ababa this evening for a three days official visit to Ethiopia.
The delegation comprises of senators, federal ministers, deputy ministers, as well as heads of large Russian state corporations.
They will have separate meetings with their Ethiopian colleagues to discuss specific steps for realizing new projects.
The delegation received a warm welcome by Ethiopia’s House of Federation Agegnehu Teshager upon arrival at the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport this evening.
Ethiopia is one of Russia’s most important and key partners in Africa, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matvienko told ENA.
The Speaker explained that close Russian-Ethiopian inter-parliamentary cooperation plays a crucial role in strengthening and developing political dialogue at various levels.
She further highlighted that the two countries are actively collaborating on the platform of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
