Africa-Press – Ethiopia. Some members of the second generation Ethiopian Diaspora, who responded to the call of PM Abiy to visit the country, have urged their counterparts in the diaspora to come and experience the country.
Recall that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed invited the second generation to visit their country of origin from December 30, 2023 to September 30, 2024.
Ibrahim Muhammad, one of the second generation diaspora who came from Saudi Arabia, said that “ everyone benefits from the call. Help yourselves and your country by visiting Ethiopia and witnessing what you saw internationally.”
He stressed that “this is a call by our leader, and we as a people must respond to this call by supporting it. We have done so and we are happy and satisfied with what Ethiopia has provided for us abroad and at home.”
For his part, Abdul Rahman Adam, who was born in Saudi Arabia, explained that Ethiopia is radically transformed, developed technologically, and entered into a new chapter during the past five years.
Visiting Ethiopia is, therefore, necessary for the second generation diaspora to know many things, including the privileges granted to those born abroad.
“I would like to send a message to everyone outside Ethiopia to see for themselves that Ethiopia is getting transformed into a digital, commercial and industrial country. The opportunities are many. Just take your steps and come to the country.”
The other member of the second generation, Abdul Ghafoor Qamar Ahmed, from Saudi Arabia, said that he felt proud and honored because he responded to the Prime Minister’s invitation.
“I feel very proud and honored that I responded to the Prime Minister’s call,” he stated. It is a huge pleasure to enjoy this beautiful, charming and great country.”
In addition to other important landmarks, the second generation have so far visited the Entoto Park, Friendship Park, and Bishoftu.
