Africa-Press – Ethiopia. The Ministry of Transport and Logistics signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Defense to work together on the enhancement of the maritime sector.
Minister of Transport and Logistics Alemu Sime and Minister of Defense Abraham Belay signed the MoU today.
Establishing mechanisms for the exchange of maritime security information, strengthening regulatory institutional capacity, and developing a system that acknowledges the naval sea service and naval training institutions were stated as objectives of the agreement.
In addition, cooperation on research and development projects, including sharing experience on national maritime developments, and policies organizing partnership development activities, workshops, technical seminars, and conferences covering fields of common interest were also the other objectives mentioned.
