Africa-Press – Gambia. APOLOGY Publisher The Standard newspaper and reporter Tabora Bojang hereby unreservedly apologise to Mr Hamat Bah, the Minister of Tourism and Culture for the publication of the article titled “Assembly Summons Hamat Bah Over Corruption Allegations At GT Board” on 24th January 2022.

The source of information that Minister Bah was summoned turned out to be false. We also apologise to Minister Bah for reporting that acting in complot with his permanent secretary, he used the Covid-19 situation to send the staff home and in their absence signed a contract for the eco-lodges; and that he unilaterally removed the GT Board chairman following the latter’s reception of aggrieved staff.

All these allegations may have been implied in the allegations contained in the petition submitted to the National Assembly Select Committee on Tourism by the aggrieved staff of GT Board but they have not been explicitly stated as implied in the article and Minister Bah through his lawyers has expressed his distress at the publication.

We unreservedly apologise to Minister Bah for any inconvenience the said publication may have caused him and assure him that the publication was not done with malice or ill-will against his person.
