Africa-Press – Gambia. The Brikama Area Council (BAC) on Thursday confirmed that it has received D13,680,000 from the central government, marking the settlement of long-outstanding rate payments. Chairman Yankuba Darboe conveyed the announcement to councillors during the council’s general meeting.
In a statement, the council expressed its gratitude to the government for honoring the payment.
“This payment covers obligations extending up to 2024. We extend our sincere appreciation to the Government of The Gambia for fulfilling this commitment,” the council said.
