The documents will undergo IEC scrutiny, after which the Returning officer in the Region, Joseph Colley, will hand over an acceptance letter to the aspirants if all their documents are intact after the verification

The APRC No To Alliance Aspiring Candidates for the Kanifing municipality are;

Candidate Ward

Maimuna Badjie Bundung Borehole Bantaba

Omar Colley Abuko

Sainabou Colley Fajikunda

Momodou Sanyang Bundung Mauritania

Alieu Sanneh Tallinding North

Buba Badjie Tallinding South

Mam fatou Drammeh

Talking to the press, Alieu Sanneh, the aspiring Candidate For Tallinding South Ward, highlights some of his plans for the people of the Ward if elected.

Mr. Sanneh said youth unemployment is very high in his Ward, and it is giving him sickness. He told the media that he was ready to solve this when elected into office.

“I am confident that I will win this election. Because even my opponents are coming to beg me to withdraw from the election. But I will never withdraw from the election, because I am not a youth who will withdraw. The candidate from the APRC coalition came to beg me. The Independent candidate also came for me to withdraw. But I am not the person who will withdraw from this election. Even if you look at me, I am a tiger. I don’t run backward, I only go forward,” He said

Mr. Sanneh further called for the increment of allowance for councilors.

“Every councilor, if they give you Allowance, come out to the media and tell your people that you have received their money. People will call and give you ideas. Because one idea Is not always enough because you are elected by the people,” Mr. Sanneh added.

Sainabou Colley, the aspiring Candidate for Fajikunda Ward said if elected she will empower the youth and women of her Ward. She said it is the people of her Ward who are urging her to contest the election.

Omar Colley, the aspiring Candidate for Abuko ward, said his slogan is “act act.”

“Because the people of Abuko said they need actions, and actions cannot just be lip service words. Looking at Abuko Ward, normally we should not rely on the government. Because of what we have, most of these wards are not having income-earning activities. Abuko, we don’t have that transparent leadership. We haven’t had domestic accountability, we haven’t had where in youth and women are empowered. So I will say basically these are the things that I will look into,” He said.

According to the APRC No to Alliance Movement, they will be nominating nine more independent candidates in the Kanifing Municipality tomorrow.
