Africa-Press – Gambia. The legal challenge involving The Gambia’s former Auditor General moved forward on Wednesday before Chief Justice Hassan B. Jallow, sitting as a single judge.
Lamin J. Darbo, assisted by Jarra Jeng, appeared for the plaintiff. The defense team was led by Solicitor General H. Thomasi and included private legal practitioner Ida D. Drammeh, J. O. Okete, Acting Director of Civil Litigation, A. A. Wakawz, Principal State Counsel, and Senior State Counsels S. L. Jobarteh and M. Ngum.
During the proceedings, Chief Justice Jallow directed both parties to consult and agree on the issues in contention and to file summaries of evidence or affidavit statements in advance. The filings are due by November 26, 2025.
Acting on his own motion, the Chief Justice also ordered that Cherno Amadou Sowe be joined to the case as a third defendant, recognizing him as an interested party. The court instructed that all relevant documents be served on Sowe, who is at liberty to file a response.
The agreed issues and facts are to be submitted to the Supreme Court ahead of the next hearing, which has been scheduled for December 3, 2025.
