Africa-Press – Gambia. President Adama Barrow has issued a strong warning to opposition parties, declaring that he has no plans to leave the presidency anytime soon and has already begun his campaign ahead of the December 5th presidential election.

Speaking at a rally in Sukuta, President Barrow said his administration remains firmly in control and ready for the upcoming political contest.

“The opposition will know President Barrow is not leaving the presidency now. We are staying in the presidency. They have to wait till later. President Barrow and his people are still in the presidency. We are strong on the ground,” he asserted.

The president emphasized his determination to continue leading The Gambia’s development agenda, saying he and his team were committed to seeing their vision for the nation realized.

“We were born and raised in this country; we fear nothing,” Barrow said. “We will engage in all forms of politics to ensure we achieve the development we envision for The Gambia. There is no turning back.”

President Barrow also urged his supporters to begin active campaigning, assuring them that all necessary resources would be made available.

“Anything you need, you will have enough—T-shirts, vehicles, and other materials. Nobody will have more than you. I am ready for that, and those assisting us are ready for that,” he pledged.

He further claimed that many Gambians were prepared to make sacrifices to ensure his campaign’s success, expressing confidence that his team would have the means and support required to secure another term in office.
