Africa-Press – Gambia. Gambian champions Berewuleng FC capped off their WAFU-A CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers campaign with a commanding 4-1 victory over Liberia’s Determine Girls FC, securing a historic bronze medal for The Gambia.

The match got off to a flying start as Sarah Jarju scored within just 25 seconds the fastest goal of the tournament giving Berewuleng an early lead. Determine Girls FC equalized, but Nyima Sanneh restored Berewuleng’s advantage before Jarju completed her brace. Awa K. Darboe added a spectacular solo goal to seal the emphatic win.

In their maiden appearance at the sub-regional qualifiers, Berewuleng FC became the first Gambian side to finish on the podium. They ended third with six points, behind runners-up Aigles De Medina and champions USFAS FC, both on nine points.

Young striker Sarah Jarju was a standout performer, finishing as the tournament’s top scorer with three goals in four matches and earning two “Player of the Match” awards. Her exceptional performance underscored Berewuleng’s historic campaign on the West African stage.
