Africa-Press – Gambia. Bottrop Technical Upper and Senior Secondary School celebrated the academic journey and accomplishments of its graduating class during a colorful ceremony held on Saturday at the school grounds.

The event drew a large audience, including proud parents, alumni, members of the National Assembly, and other distinguished guests who gathered to honor the students’ achievements.

In his welcoming address, Principal Jalimori Jobarteh described the occasion as a celebration of success and a reflection of the school’s continued pursuit of excellence.

“This ceremony marks more than just the end of an academic chapter—it’s a recognition of the hard work, perseverance, and triumphs that have defined this past year,” Jobarteh said. “From academic excellence to moral development and creative expression, our students have truly embodied our belief that every learner has the capacity to shine.”

He noted that the school remains committed to its mission of nurturing well-rounded individuals who are not only academically capable but also responsible and compassionate citizens.

Guest speaker, Musa Ceesay, delivered an inspiring and hard-hitting message to the graduates, urging them to embrace the challenges of a rapidly changing world.

“You are entering a world shaped by economic uncertainty, climate change, and technological disruption,” Ceesay said. “This world does not owe you comfort—it demands resilience, creativity, and courage. The future belongs to job creators, innovators, and problem solvers.”

He challenged the graduates to pursue their passions whether in technology, healthcare, entrepreneurship, agriculture, or the arts with determination and discipline.

“There are no secrets to success,” he added. “It comes through preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.”

Outgoing Board Chairperson, Madam Isatou Ndow, echoed similar sentiments, encouraging the graduating students to remain steadfast and purposeful as they transition into the next phase of their lives.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates to outstanding students and teachers in recognition of their dedication, excellence, and contribution to the school community.
