Africa-Press – Gambia. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed two Executive Committee members of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) to officiate in the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup match between Azam FC of Tanzania and AS Maniema Union of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The match is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 7 February 2026, at Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar City, Tanzania.
According to the GFF, Colonel Musa M. Balla Jammeh has been appointed as CAF Security Officer, while Mr. John Frank Mendy will serve as Referees Assessor.
Colonel Jammeh, an experienced continental safety official, previously served as a CAF Security Officer during the last Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), reflecting continued confidence in his expertise.
Mr. Mendy, Chairman of the Gambia Football Referees Association, brings extensive technical experience to the role, highlighting The Gambia’s growing reputation in refereeing and football administration on the continent.
The GFF congratulated both officials on their appointments, noting that their participation reinforces the country’s presence and professionalism in African football governance.
