Darboe Says Oreime Joiner, Alagie Sillah & Samba Faal Are HardCore NPP Members

Africa-Press – Gambia. Lawyer Ousainu Darbo, Secretary General and party leader of the United Democratic Party (UDP) has accused commissioners Oreime Joiner, Alagie Sillah, and Samba Faal of the newly established presidential commission into the conduct of local government councils of being hardcore members of the National People’s Party (NPP).

“If you look at the composition of the commission, we all know Oreime Joiner is a hardcore NPP. I know that because we were together in UDP before he joined NPP. They even wanted to appoint him as deputy chairperson of IEC but they later called it off when a lot of complaints were made. He was compensated with a job on the Social Security board. Alagie Sillah is my brother but we all know he is a hardcore NPP. In fact, he appeared at an NPP rally at the Never Again Memorial Arch. Samba Faal, is a remnant of APRC. They are in alliance with NPP. You select those people, you give them a knife to go and slaughter. Is that right?,” the UDP leader asked.

The UDP leader said if the president really want to establish an impartial commission, he should not have chosen people with such character;

“If you really want to establish an impartial commission, you will choose another character but not that kind of people. Tainted people, people who have the interest to serve because all those people are campaigning against Rohey Malick Lowe. Samba Faal is campaigning actively against her, Alagie Sillah is campaigning actively against her, and the same with Oreime Joiner before the establishment of this commission. We know that” the UDP leader said.

Lawyer Ousainu Darbo, the Secretary-General and party leader of the United Democratic Party (UDP) made these remarks on the premiere of press’s weekly show, The Grand Bantaba on Friday.
