Africa-Press – Gambia. The Dolphin Stars FC, headed by its President Mamour M. Mbenga, paid a courtesy call to the Minister of Youth and Sports Bakary Y. Badjie to discuss a new initiative in the advancement of community football.

The “Hope for Tomorrow” project will focus on promoting sports education, sports tourism, community sports initiative, and other related sports activities and regional sports exchange programs.

“I am an agent of change in the community, and I believe bringing our ideas and great minds is the key to rapid development in sports, especially football,” says the President.

The Dolphin Stars are a group of young people also fighting towards combating drug abuse in youth while building capacities of others on sports first-aid for athletes, social and sports domestic laws.

“The Project also has a component to coach athletes on their career goals both at a professional level and life after football,” Mbenga said.

Mbenga fondly referred to as “Kifa Barhama,” is a journalist. He recently graduated with an advanced certificate in Football Business Management and Human Resources at Valley View University in Ghana.

The young sports administrator called on the Ministry of Youth and Sports to partner with local actors and oriented-development youth projects with a long-term goal that shall continue to serve and yield results for the sports industry.

For his part, Hon. Bakary Badjie graced the visit and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the youth in various sectors, including all sporting activities.
