Ebrima Tabora Manneh Urges Gambians to Reject Division

Africa-Press – Gambia. Ebrima Tabora Manneh, Party Leader and Secretary General of the People’s Alliance Party (PAP), has called on Gambians to reject divisive politics and embrace unity as the nation prepares for the 2026 presidential elections.

Speaking in an interview with West Coast Radio, Manneh emphasized that national cohesion is key to progress and warned against politicians who thrive on sowing division for personal or political gain.

“What I am telling Gambians is that there is something that we must not, we should not, waste our time and energy on, and that is divisive politics,” he said.

He cautioned citizens against paying attention to politicians who seek to create divisions for their own political gain, urging everyone to remain united.

“We must not listen to politicians like myself who would try to divide us,” he said. “Because we are all united. You will be surprised that the commonalities we have are far stronger and more than the artificial differences that we have.”

Manneh stressed that Gambians share deep commonalities that transcend tribal, linguistic, or political lines. He urged citizens to take pride in their ethnic identities without allowing them to become sources of conflict or manipulation.

“We must be proud of whatever tribe we are but not belittle each other and not allow politicians to act for their selfish interests,” he added.

Concluding his remarks, Manneh expressed optimism about The Gambia’s potential, saying, “Let us believe in ourselves; let us believe that we can make this country the best in Africa. It is doable.”
