Africa-Press – Gambia. Flutterwave has resumed its Send App service for Europe-to-Africa remittances after a operational pause, introducing enhanced security, faster processing, and expanded payment options.
The relaunch targets Africa’s diaspora in key European markets—Ireland, France, Germany, and Italy—enabling transfers to Nigeria, Egypt, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, and other African nations.
The upgrade supports Visa card and direct bank transfers, with plans to integrate additional payment methods. Flutterwave CEO Olugbenga ‘GB’ Agboola framed the move as a “renewed commitment” to diasporic communities, emphasizing transaction security and compliance with European regulatory standards. The relaunch aligns with World Bank projections of $690 billion in annual remittances to low- and middle-income countries by 2025.
This follows Send App’s recent U.S. expansion after securing 20 state money-transmitter licenses. Flutterwave, which has processed $34 billion across 890 million transactions, aims to strengthen Africa-Europe financial corridors amid Ghana’s NDC-led government focus on digital financial inclusion under President Mahama.
