Africa-Press – Gambia. The Gambia Beach Volleyball team of Sainey Jawo and Mbye Babou Jarra on Tuesday made it through into the quarterfinals stage of the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham after defeating Sri Lanka by 2 sets to 1 in a mouthwatering encounter of the second match of Pool A.

Earlier, on Sunday, The Gambia Beach Volleyball team thrashed St. Kits and Nevis 2-0 in Pool A, before playing against Sri Lanka on Tuesday 1st August 2022. The Qatar based duo (Sainey Jawo and Mbye Babou Jarra) would play against Canada today, on Thursday, in the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, The Gambia beach volleyball team of Sainey Jawo and Mbye Babou Jarra booked their place into the Commonwealth Games after triumphing the Africa Games championship in Ghana.
