Co-hosted by Ethiopia and Italy, the summit convened global leaders to review progress toward achieving Sustainable Development Goal 2 (Zero Hunger) and advancing resilient, sustainable food systems worldwide. The event’s theme, “Hand in Hand for Better Food and a Better Future,” underscored the importance of collective action.

During the summit, Minister Sabally and his delegation engaged in technical discussions and policy dialogues, showcasing The Gambia’s initiatives aimed at transforming its agricultural sector. “Through our support of global food systems transformation, we are investing in a future where all people can live with dignity and free from hunger,” she said.

Minister Meloni also highlighted the importance of innovation, youth engagement, and strengthening Africa-Europe partnerships to build sustainable agricultural value chains.

The summit concluded with a collective call to action, urging countries to increase investment and deepen collaboration to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
